UFC YTD: 5-3 +4.30 units

My correct UFC record is above; thanks to sphincter for pointing out my mistake of listing Frank Trigg as a winner in that thread from 8/20.

A couple of first season TUF fighters going tonight in Koscheck and Leben; lines are just too rich to risk any money on them and I don't know enough about their opponents to take a stab that way, so I just have one play tonight.

Evan Tanner -170......this, too, is a bit of a rich line, but I feel that Tanner will come out hard against Loiseau after losing his belt the last time he was in the Octagon. I have always been very impressed with Tanner's game and ability to get out of jams while remaining calm. He is a very tough guy as well; I don't believe Loiseau has the powert to knock him out. Anything can happen in the Octagon, but I think Tanner gets it done in tonight's main event. Good Luck tonight!

fickett got me.....he was dominated for 14 minutes.....the 15th minute was the "kicker"...caught a hail mary knee to the head....tough way to lose....

tanner broke up once again.....may be time for him to rethink his line of work....

And I didn't take it that way, sphincter. Just thanking you for pointing out my mistake.

Yeah, Koscheck was easily winning that fight until that freak knee knocked him silly and ficket jumped on his back and put him to sleep. Thats always a possibility in any type of fight, especially in the UFC. Leban impressed me with his submission skills in his fight, but I'm not sure his opponent took his ground game seriously enough.

I'm a big Nate Quarry fan, but it seems a bit too early for him to be getting into the Octagon with Rich Franklin. Just hope its a good fight between two guys who come across as very classy in their interviews.

I was afraid of Loiseau's elbows as everything I had read about him mentioned them. Tanner was controlling the fight when it was on the ground, but Loiseau got lose and was able to split Tanner's face open with those elbows and got the fight stopped.
Had I seen him fight before and saw how quick and strong he was, I probably would have taken a 1/2 unit flier on all the dogs last night(and won some $$...LOL) or would have just passed entirely and got ready for Friday's card.

Lets find some winners for friday, sphincter......:toast:

yeah, thats some serious juice to be laying as anything can happen. I can't justify laying that kind of wood so I'm playing some of the dogs for 1/2 a unit tonight. Might join you in that parlay as I think the Buffalos can get it done at home tomarrow...
